Bruce Groves, CIH, President

Mr. Groves is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist with over 30 years experience as an EHS professional. This includes over 23 years as President of Emilcott and prior experience in the environmental engineering industry and mining operations. He began his career as an Industrial Hygienist/Compliance Officer with the US Dept of Labor, OSHA. Mr. Groves’ areas of expertise include all facets of industrial hygiene and OSHA, TSCA and DOT compliance. He specializes in the assessment of environmental and human health effects from exposures to hazards and how to measure and control these hazards. He is frequently called upon for expert opinion, expert testimony and OSHA negotiations for fine mitigation. Mr. Groves has a BA in Biology from Lafayette College and an MBA from the University of Connecticut.

Paula Kaufmann, CIH, Sr. Project Manager

Ms. Kaufmann is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist with over 30 years experience in the safety and health profession. In addition to her 12 years with Emilcott, Ms. Kaufmann was an industrial hygiene professional in the petrochemical industry both domestically and abroad. She began her career in the R&D industry as a bench chemist. Ms. Kaufmann is highly trained it the areas of comprehensive industrial hygiene, OSHA compliance TSCA and REACH. She assists clients in the areas of exposure assessments and hazard control, program development and implementation, emergency response, toxic chemicals and litigation support. Ms. Kaufmann has a BS in Chemistry from the University of Florida, and an MS in Environmental and Occupational Health Science from Hunter College, City University of New York.

H. Dale Wilson, CIH, LEED AP, Sr. Project Manager

Mr. Wilson is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist and a LEED Accredited Professional with over 15 years comprehensive EHS experience. Prior to joining Emilcott over 10 years ago, Mr. Wilson was a corporate industrial hygienist in the international chemical industry and an EHS field technician in wastewater operations. Mr. Wilson specializes in Indoor Environmental issues related to biologicals, lead, asbestos, and vapor intrusion; fire and life safety for non-industrial facilities; comprehensive industrial hygiene; OSHA compliance and Green Building (LEED) certification. He is frequently called upon for expert opinion and expert testimony. Mr. Wilson has a BS in Biology from the University of South Carolina.

Dian Cucchisi, PhD, CHMM, Sr. Project Manager

Ms. Cucchisi is a Board Certified Hazardous Materials Manager and is Level 3 Certified in Homeland Security. She has over 25 years comprehensive EHS experience, including over 7 years with Emilcott and prior experience in emergency response operations, chemical manufacturing, and pharmaceutical industry. Ms. Cucchisi assists clients with air and waste water permitting, hazardous materials management and reporting, OSHA, RCRA, TSCA, DOT, SPCC/DPCC compliance, and emergency response. Ms. Cucchisi has an MS in Environmental Engineering and a PhD in Safety Engineering from Kennedy-Western University.

Laurie deLaski, CIH, Sr. Project Manager

Ms. deLaski is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist with over 25 years of experience in EHS training, industrial hygiene and safety. Ms. deLaski also has extensive experience in laboratory / R&D health and safety. In addition to her 12 years with Emilcott, Ms. deLaski was in Corporate Safety Management in the medical laboratory industry and was a Loss Control / IH Specialist in the insurance business. Ms. deLaski specializes in OSHA compliance and program development, EHS assessments and audits, industrial hygiene, and training. She has assisted a wide variety of companies (from consulting engineers, pharmaceutical and telecommunication) to develop their corporate Health and Safety Programs and facility-specific standard operation procedures. Ms. deLaski received a BA in Microbiology from SUNY Plattsburgh, with a minor in Chemistry.

Lee Scott Bishop, CIH, MPH, Sr. Project Manager

Mr. Bishop is a Board Certified Industrial Hygienist and holds a Masters in Public Health. He has over 25 years of experience in environmental health and occupational / public safety. His areas of expertise include industrial hygiene, risk assessment of exposure to hazards, chemical hygiene, all areas of OSHA compliance, TSCA and REACH. In addition to over 10 years of EHS consulting with Emilcott, Mr. Bishop was in corporate health and safety in the petrochemical, chemical and research laboratory industries. Mr. Bishop has a BS in the Applied Sciences from East Texas State University (Texas A&M) and a Masters in Public Health (MPH) from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey.

Tom Carlson, PE, Sr. Project Manager

Mr. Carlson has over 30 years of experience in process and environmental engineering and related instrumentation and computing technology.  He specializes in the design, planning and organizational aspects of process control, systems integration and information technology.  Mr. Carlson started his career in the petrochemical industry providing engineering support to manufacturing plants worldwide.  He has extensive project management experience that includes business-case development and feasibility studies, scheduling and budgeting, and implementation and oversight.  At Emilcott, he is head of engineering and product development for the Greenlight(TM) Environmental Monitoring System.  Mr. Carlson is a licensed Professional Engineer in the state of New Jersey, and holds BS and MS degrees in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Minnesota.

Genya Mallach, CSP, Project Manager

Ms. Mallach is a Board Certified Safety Professional and environmental engineer with over twenty years experience in process engineering, health and safety and environmental consulting. Prior to joining Emilcott, Ms. Mallach was in facility health and safety in the environmental engineering field, and chemical engineering in the environmental remediation technologies industry. Her expertise is in all facets of EHS program assessment, development, and implementation; environmental permitting for air emissions and waste water; OSHA, REACH, TSCA, and RCRA compliance; and risk assessment of environmental health issues. Ms. Mallach is fluent in Hebrew and Russian and has a BS in Chemical Engineering from the University of Maryland.

Dave Tomsey, Project Manager
Mr. Tomsey has over 11 years of experience in the EHS field with a comprehensive background in the design, implementation, and operation of perimeter air monitoring systems.  He was instrumental in the research, design and development of the Emilcott GreenlightTM Environmental Monitoring System.  He has extensive experience in monitoring devices, IT protocol, radio telemetry, and instrument communication.  He also develops reports and monitoring plans and has an understanding of management concerns for remediation and demolition projects.  He routinely overcomes air monitoring problems and logistics in regards to community action, public relations and regulatory necessity to meet the needs of large remediation projects for Fortune 500 companies.  Mr. Tomsey holds a BS in Environmental Science with an environmental engineering minor from The Pennsylvania State University.

Carrie Bettinger, CSP, CHMM, Project Manager

Ms. Bettinger is Board Certified as a Safety Professionals and Hazardous Materials Manager and is also an authorized OSHA Construction Standards Outreach Trainer, She has over ten years’ experience in the EHS field including such areas as comprehensive industrial hygiene; safety in general industry, laboratories and construction; radiation exposure; and hazardous waste operation safety oversight. Prior to joining Emilcott, Ms. Bettinger’s experience included environmental laboratory analysis and environmental field investigations. She has extensive knowledge of safety and health issues related to laboratories and R&D facilities. Ms. Bettinger has a BS in Environmental, Health and Safety Management from Rochester Institute of Technology.

Donald R. Hoeschele, Project Manager

Mr. Hoeschele has over 10 years experience in the field of environmental, health and safety specializing in health and safety inspections, construction safety oversight, IH exposure monitoring and lead and asbestos surveys. Mr. Hoeschele’s prior experience includes IH surveys and environmental assessments of commercial properties, utilities and hospitals as well as IEQ investigations, and environmental/IH assessments for construction and environmental remediation sites. Mr. Hoeschele has a BS in Environmental Sciences from William Paterson University, and an MS in Environmental and Occupational Health Science from Hunter College.

John DeFillippo, CHMP, Project Manager

Mr. DeFillippo is a Board Certified Hazardous Materials Practitioner with has over 15 years experience in the H&S industry. His prior experience includes safety management in the transportation/trucking industry, pharmaceutical research and manufacturing, healthcare, and laboratories. Mr. DeFillippo’s areas of expertise include EHS Training, OSHA, DOT, RCRA and Marine Safety compliance. He routinely assists clients in the general industry, utility, healthcare, marine, construction and hazardous waste industries. Mr. DeFillippo has an AS in Electronics Engineering Technology from the National Electronics Institute, Newark, NJ. He served in the United States Coast Guard from 1979 to 1983 as a boat crewman, coxswain stationed at the Manasquan Inlet. He is currently a USCG Licensed Master, a NJ DOH Certified Emergency Medical Technician B, and a PADI Advanced Open Water / Rescue Diver

Martha Hernandez, EHS Training Manager

Ms. Hernanadez has over 10 years experience in the areas of occupational health and safety, fire and life safety, hazardous materials management, security, and EHS training. Prior to joining Emilcott as the Manager of the Emilcott Training Institute, Ms. Hernandez was in facility safety and security in the hotel/hospitality and food sanitation industries. She was also a corporate EHS Trainer in the oil exploration field, and routinely conducts training in both English and Spanish. Ms. Hernandez has a BS in Civil Engineering from Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff.

Eileen Lucier, EHS Consultant

Ms. Lucier has over seven years experience in the areas of industrial hygiene, safety, and environmental health. Prior to joining Emilcott, Ms. Lucier was a Field Scientist and a Health and Safety Officer in the environmental remediation industry. Ms. Lucier’s expertise includes health and safety oversight on hazardous waste, construction and MGP sites; exposure monitoring; and EHS program assessments and development. Ms. Lucier has a BS in Environmental Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.

Michael Gfroehrer, Project Manager

Mr. Gfroehrer is a Certified Microbial Remediation Supervisor, and an EPA AHERA Building Inspector with over 8 years experience in the EHS consulting field. He is experienced in industrial hygiene, indoor environmental quality issues, and health and safety project support for environmental remediation activities. He frequently performs Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) investigations and surveys for a variety of clients including hospitals, hotels, pharmaceutical companies, manufacturing plants, and schools as well as providing safety and health program support at hazardous waste operations, manufacturing, and construction sites. Mr. Gfroehrer has an AS in Chemistry from Brookdale Community College in Lincroft, NJ.

Jon Quatermas, EHS Consultant

Mr. Quatermas is an environmental, health and safety consultant in the areas of environmental remediation, exposure monitoring, and health and safety in construction. Including three years with Emilcott, Mr. Quatermas has over 9 years experience in the EHS industry. He frequently serves as a Health and Safety Officer on highly contaminated remediation sites and former MGP sites. He provides environmental air monitoring services for CAMP or NAEP compliance as well as health and safety oversight during gas pipeline construction or repair, general construction, excavation/trenching and, heavy equipment operations. Mr. Quatermas is highly trained in all areas of health and safety for hazardous waste operations.

Charles Peruffo, EHS Consultant

Mr. Peruffo is an EHS professional specializing in construction and laboratory health and safety. Prior to his EHS career, Charles spent many years as chemist in the pharmaceutical industry with responsibilities ranging from laboratory safety to analyst training.  He holds a Bachelor of Science in Biology from Montclair State University and is pursuing his Master of Science in Occupational Safety Health Engineering from New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Daniel Senatus, EHS Consultant

Mr. Senatus has more than five years experience in the areas of environmental quality, safety, and industrial hygiene. Mr. Senatus’s background in government, public and private sectors, includes health and safety oversight, health and safety auditing, IH exposure assessments, ergonomic evaluations and industrial hygiene monitoring at various types of facilities, and hazardous waste sites. His project experience includes conducting job safety analyses, incident investigation, health and safety program coordination and management, industrial hygiene monitoring and instrumentation troubleshooting.  Prior to joining Emilcott, Mr. Senatus served in the U.S. Navy as a Medical Advisor and Safety Technician. Mr. Senatus has a BS in Healthcare Management from Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, IL and is enrolled in the MS Occupational Safety and Health Engineering program at the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

Megan Grennille, Project Coordinator

Ms. Grennille graduated in December 2009 with a BS in Environmental Sciences from Rutgers University, School of Environmental  and Biological Sciences in New Brunswick, NJ.  While in college she worked for the Rutgers Geology Museum and a geotechnical engineering and environmental consulting firm.

Barbara Glynn Alves, Senior Staff Director

Ms. Alves has over 25 years of administrative and marketing experience – 20 years in the environmental, health and safety industry. Her background includes sales and marketing of environmental consulting services, EHS software and technical products, EHS training programs and EHS expert witness services.

She began her career as a National Technical Sales Representative in the specialty chemical business. Ms. Alves founded and chaired the NJ State Safety Council’s Annual Safety and Loss Prevention Expo’s EHS Career Fair in 2003-2004 to promote the EHS profession to college students. Ms. Alves has a BA in Public Administration form the American University, Washington DC, and Certificates D’Etude in French Studies from the Universite’ D’Aix – Marseille, France.
